Sally Friswell
Sally Friswell is a chartered fire engineer with 22 years’ experience working within the fire engineering industry. Sally has worked for Arup for the last 20 years and is part of the Arup Fire leadership team.
Sally’s present position with Arup includes developing integrated fire strategies for buildings, and infrastructure projects covering all aspects of fire safety. She has extensive project experience across a variety of project sectors including road and rail developments, educational buildings, commercial, residential, laboratory and industrial buildings.
Sally first achieved her chartered engineer status in 2013 and then in 2025 became one of the first fire engineers to achieve the new CEng HRB status.
Sally is actively involved with the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and sits on their Registrant’s Group and committee, reviewing applications and interviewing people for chartered and incorporated engineer status.
