UK Fire Training is clearing up!

Bromsgrove based UK Fire Training Limited, one of the UK’s leading training companies, took the opportunity back in March 2020 to spring clean their wardrobes and bedlinen cupboards to ‘Recycle their textiles’ to work in conjunction with The Fire Fighters Charity and help them achieve the charity year’s target of £70,000 from the scheme.  By getting involved in the campaign, we can support the initiative of recycling textiles whilst aiding the vital work of the Fire Fighters Charity who happen to have a recycling bank at our local fire station in Bromsgrove.

The charity sells on the wearable clothes to countries who need them, and unwearable clothes are recycled and use to make upholstery in turn benefiting the charity funds.

The Fire Fighters Charity has run a successful textile recycling scheme since 2008, in partnership with fire and

rescue services and textile recycling Companies across the UK. The annual campaign has helped raise over £600,000 a year for the charity.  The charity understands the mental, physical and social burdens that come from being a past or present member of the UK’s dedicated fore service community.  So, the charity rescues the rescuers and help them to recover their lives when they need it most.

UK Fire Training Limited are keen to work with their local fire station as much as possible as well as support the charity.

Sarah James, PA and Office Manager for Agility Group, who spearheads the campaign and all the CSR activities said: “We had a great response earlier in the year and everyone getting involved in the Great British Spring Clean.  Unfortunately, we were unable to take our donations in March, but we are looking forward to finally dropping off our textile contributions to Bromsgrove Fire Station on 6 August. As a team, we are dedicated to supporting charitable events in the region, particularly for a cause so close to our hearts in The Fire Fighters Charity.”

“HWFRS appreciate the donation to the Firefighters Charity but do not endorse any of the services provided by UK Fire Training or Agility Group”
