Projects Delivered for Harrogate Hospital in 2025
At AWB,  we are trusted nationwide experts in passive fire protection, providing quality, compliant solutions that protect people and buildings. Our team works closely with clients from initial contact through to reporting and certification.

Our works for Harrogate Hospital included:

Annual Fire Damper Testing

January – February 2025

Our engineers were deployed to carry out annual fire damper testing across the hospital, completing drop tests on up to 692 fire dampers. Each damper was tested and reset, with every pass and fail recorded accurately for full regulatory compliance.

Where a damper required remedial work to achieve compliance, our team identified this clearly so the hospital had a complete overview of what was needed to stay safe under UK fire safety regulations.

Harrogate Basement — Fire Stopping Works

January – February 2025

We completed targeted fire stopping works within the basement area, sealing all breaches in walls and ceilings. This ensured compartmentation was maintained throughout the space, preventing fire and smoke from spreading through unprotected openings.

Fire stopping is a key passive fire protection service we provide, designed to contain fire at its source and protect the structural integrity of buildings.

Fire Damper Remedial Project

March – April 2025

Following testing, our engineers delivered full remedial works across 15 hospital wards, including:

• Fire stopping around dampers
• Removing and replacing dampers as required
• Testing and resetting works
• Electrical surveys on BMS controlled dampers

This phase ensured that all identified non-compliant dampers were brought up to standard, with full documentation provided.

Harrogate Littondale — Fire Stopping Works

September – October 2025

We carried out fire stopping on existing penetrations across fire walls in the Littondale area of the hospital. This covered breaches identified during a site visit by our Head of Operations, and each penetration was sealed to restore full compartmentation and compliance.

Quality and Compliance

Across every phase of work, we provided detailed reports and all required compliance documentation, giving Harrogate Hospital clear evidence of regulatory compliance and assurance that fire safety measures were delivered to the highest standards.

This reflects AWB’s commitment to quality, professionalism and systematic delivery of passive fire protection works.

We look forward to showcasing our expertise and discussing how we can support your passive fire protection needs at The Fire Safety Event!
