A new dedicated fire-door training company has been launched. UK Fire Door Training Ltd have set up with the aim of improving the standard of fire-door training delivered in the UK. 

UK Fire Door Training provides training on fire-door maintenance and installations. They will be adding training courses for fire-door inspectors and responsible persons in the future.

UK Fire Door Training will be delivering training out of their training centres in Wolverhampton and Leicester, as well as one-off days in major cities across the UK.

The UK Fire Door Training team is made up of certified fire door inspectors, joiners and a qualified teacher.

Neil Ashdown of Fire Doors Complete is also a key contributor to the project.

Jonny Millard, General Manager says: ‘UK Fire Door Training is an exciting new company with the primary aim of improving the standard of fire-door training delivered in the UK. As a former teacher I feel that the other courses currently on the market do not lend themselves to long-term learning and retention of information. Our courses will have unlimited accessibility, high-quality content and put fire safety and the customer first.’

UK Fire Door Training is currently going through the process to get the courses nationally recognised and fire-safety recognised. Jonny Millard added: ‘We recognise that fire-door courses that are designed to improve competency need some form of certification, and we are committed to ensuring that all of the courses are recognised and that the customers have a qualification that holds real value.’

UK Fire Door Training also holds the licence to deliver the BWF’s Fire Door Installation Awareness Course. This is NOCN Site Right certified, and a significant number of companies have already signed up for training days.

UK Fire Door Training will be at the Fire Safety Event in September at the NEC and are looking forward to meeting people from the fire industry.
