New City & Guilds certified fire damper installation training course
Launching the training scheme almost immediately after the Building Engineering Services Association issued an urgent warning about a potential safety weakness in a large number of building ventilation systems due to the incorrect installation of fire dampers, Lindab have been working on this behind the sceens for some time.
"We have seen increasing requirements within the industry for those installing fire dampers in ventilation systems to be able to prove their competency. This is a really positive shift and we're pleased fire safety is being taken seriously however we recognised that it's not easy for installers to be able to demonstrate their competency in this area- an issue that we have worked with Hasman to rectify", states Lindab Fire & Smoke Product Manager Carl Knowler.
The unique two day fire damper installation training course will deliver both practical and theoretical training for the installation of Lindab fire dampers. On completion of the course, each trainee can gain a City & Guilds certification which will enable them to demonstrate competency for future projects but most importantly the course will ensure Lindab fire dampers are able to provide the protection that they are designed for, and will give the installers peace of mind when they are installing life-protecting equipment.
Hasman are expecting interest in the training scheme to be high with dates scheduled through to the end of the year and onwards. Lindab have already received enquiries from contractors wanting to have all their fitters trained up as soon as possible.
Bookings can be made through the Lindab website. Find out more and book training here.
