Ciqurix delivered BS 5839-1–compliant video flame detection for a hazardous chemical waste treatment facility operating within ATEX-classified zones. As part of a £1.2m redevelopment, the site required rapid, reliable fire detection capable of operating safely in explosive atmospheres and automatically triggering fixed fire suppression systems. Traditional detection methods were unsuitable due to open-sided structures, variable waste types, and the need to minimise false alarms. The Ciqurix CORE system was selected for its ability to detect flame directly, without responding to heat, dust, fumes, or steam while offering flexible cause-and-effect integration. Fully integrated with the site’s fire warning, suppression, and control room systems, the solution provides real-time visual verification and has been accepted by both insurers and the Environment Agency, delivering robust, compliant protection in a high-risk environment.
