Ciqurix delivered next-generation, BS 5839-1–compliant video fire detection for the UK’s largest fully automated frozen storage facility. Operating at sub-zero temperatures within a 45-metre-high, 200 metre long clad rack structure, traditional detection technologies were unsuitable due to ice formation, restricted access, and maintenance challenges. The Ciqurix CORE system, incorporating long range ZeroFP video flame detectors rated to –40°C, provides rapid, pinpoint fire detection across the entire storage volume. Fully integrated with the site’s fire alarm network, the system has operated fault-free since commissioning, with zero false alarms, and has been approved by insurers setting a new benchmark for compliant fire protection in cold store environments.
