Fast, reliable fire alarm notifications for Deaf hard of hearing people remain just as vital as they were 25 years ago (when Alerter Group first developed Deaf Alerter).
But the way we interact with technology has changed.
That’s why Alerter Group is introducing a new Alerter device.
What is Deaf Alerter?
Deaf Alerter is a system that provides emergency messages about fire alarms for Deaf and hard of hearing people.
This radio-based system supports the safety of people who may not be able to hear alarms sounding. It enables users to receive emergency messages and communications to a handheld 'Alerter' device, in any building displaying the Deaf Alerter symbol.
What’s included with the redesigned Alerter device?
- New look: With a larger, LCD backlit screen for increased readability
- Rechargeable battery: Up to 72 hours battery life
- Bluetooth notifications: Connects with smartphones for added reassurance
Built around customer feedback:
You asked, so we developed and manufactured it.
Receive critical notifications, fast (and in accordance with BS 5839:1 2025):
As always, the new Alerter will be designed to help users react fast in emergency situations.
Plus, it will still include our unique National Roaming feature (allowing users to receive emergency messages in any building displaying the Deaf Alerter symbol).
View it at the Fire Safety Event
Alerter Group will be attending the Fire Safety Event at NEC Birmingham (28-30 April 2026).
We’ll be displaying our products on our stand, including our new Alerter.
Visit us at Stand 4/J36.
