Recognising the urgent need for fire rated enclosures, Ritherdon pioneered the development of the FireSeal,  a Fire Rated Access Panel designed specifically to reinstate the fire resistance of compartment walls that have been compromised by meter boxes and riser access points.

Since its launch, thousands of FireSeal units have been installed across the UK, helping to enhance passive fire protection and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Building on the success of the FireSeal, Ritherdon developed a comprehensive range of fire rated products, including:

• Fire rated R5 meter box – A robust, fire-resistant replacement for traditional meter boxes, ensuring fire compartmentation is maintained.   
• Riser FireSeal – An innovative solution for protecting service risers, preventing the vertical spread of fire through buildings.
• FireSeal Vented – The access panel is a variation of the FireSeal incorporating louvres in the door for ventilation. Upgrades the fire resistance of gas meter boxes and service riser openings.

• BS EN 1363 – General fire resistance testing framework.
• BS EN 1364 – Fire resistance for non-loadbearing elements.
• BS EN 1366 – Fire resistance of service installations, including ducts and risers.
