Who is this for?

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety helps you learn and develop fire safety skills which can be applied in workplaces anywhere in the world. It provides the knowledge and understanding to advise on fire protection of premises and workers, and carry out an effective fire risk assessment in low to medium risk workplaces. It is ideal for those responsible for fire safety in low to medium risk workplaces, including:


• Health & Safety Managers
• Facilities Managers
• Health & Safety Representatives


Course content

The course is made up of presentations, videos, question-and-answer sessions, activities, and projects.  There are 2 assessments at the end of the course – one open book online written exam, and a practical assessment. The practical assessment includes the completion of a fire risk assessment carried out at the learner’s workplace. The tutor will support the learner’s knowledge and understanding through classroom and individual discussion.

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is made up of two units:

Unit FSC1: Fire Safety

• Managing fire safety
• Principles of fire and explosion
• Fuel, oxygen and ignition sources and control measures
• Fire protection in buildings
• Safety of people in the event of fire
• Fire safety risk assessment

Unit FSC2: Fire Risk Assessment

• Practical Assessment

NEBOSH will issue successful delegates the National Certificate in Fire Safety.
