Protecta FR Acrylic
Versatile fire stopping for small service penetrations and joints
Protecta FR Acrylic is a certified, water-based fire-rated sealant designed for sealing small openings around pipes, cables and linear joints in fire-rated walls and floors. It is suitable for openings between 10–30 mm and is widely used across residential, commercial and BREEAM-targeted projects.
Backed by an extensive test programme, FR Acrylic has been evaluated in over 2,000 fire-stop configurations, covering a wide range of constructions, penetrations and joint details.
Key performance benefits
- Approved for small service penetrations and linear joints
- Suitable for openings from 10–30 mm, with fire resistance up to EI 240
- Water-based formulation with low emissions, supporting sustainable construction
- Contributes to acoustic performance and airtightness
FR Acrylic cures on exposure to air, forming a durable seal that remains slightly flexible to accommodate minor structural movement. In fire conditions, the material intumesces at approximately 180 °C, expanding to form a robust barrier that restricts the spread of fire and smoke.
Typical applications
- Sealing around pipes and cables in walls and floors
- Fire stopping linear joints and perimeter gaps
- Suitable for hospitals, schools, apartments, offices and other commercial or residential buildings
FR Acrylic can be applied directly or used in conjunction with a suitable backing material to achieve the correct joint depth and minimise shrinkage. Depending on the application, it provides up to 4 hours of documented fire resistance, supported by tested and certified performance.
