Key Design Features

  • Doorset frame: engineered Pine or Hardwood, fully factoryfinished with a waterbased paint system.
  • Door leaf: engineered 3layer timber core for strength, stability and flatness; internal and external faces can be painted in matching colours (see https://gdwmgroup.com/external-front-entrance-doors for options).
  • Glazing: optional glazed apertures, sidescreens and toplights; all glazed units are manufactured in our dedicated glazing plant licensed by Pilkington for fireresisting glazing.
  • Ironmongery: lever handles, door viewers, knockers, letterplates, numerals, security chains and closers, all supplied in polished chrome. All ironmongery (except closers, handles and security chains) is fully factoryfitted for efficient installation on site.

Accessibility

With extensive experience supporting social housing providers, we recognise that inclusive access is fundamental to fire doorset design. Residents with mobility, sensory, cognitive or strengthrelated needs must be able to operate their doors safely and independently.

Our doorsets incorporate a range of accessibilityfocused options, including:

  • Optimised effective clear opening widths;
  • Lowlevel or zero thresholds;
  • Low and highlevel door viewer options;
  • Multiple selfcloser configurations to reduce opening forces;
  • Enhanced handle designs to support ease of use;
  • Fully automated opening and closing to SBD standard – bi-directionally fire tested to EN1634-1.
